Why this chart.
The Ukulele Chord Chart fits all the common ukulele chord shapes onto a single page. The four-string fretboard is friendlier than guitar — fewer strings means simpler shapes — and most chords can be played in the first four frets without a barre.
Standard ukulele tuning (G-C-E-A) is re-entrant, meaning the G string is higher than the C string. That gives the instrument its bright, plinky character but also means chord voicings sound different from guitar even when the same fingerings are used.
Color coding by root carries over from our guitar chart, so if you play both instruments you can scan the same way. Most ukulele songs live in C, F, G, and Am, but the chart covers all 12 keys for completeness.
How to use it
Print at letter and prop next to your uke. Start with C, F, G, and Am — that's enough for hundreds of songs. Add D and Em next; you've unlocked thousands more.
