Why this chart.
The Guitar Fretboard Notes Chart shows every note on every string up to the 12th fret. It's a visual reference for one of the harder skills in guitar: knowing where each note lives.
Most beginners memorize 'shapes' (the C-shape, G-shape, etc.) without ever learning the underlying notes. That's fine for playing songs but limiting when you start composing, transposing, or improvising. This chart shortcuts the memorization by showing you everything at once.
We color-code each note so visual scanning works even when you're not actively reading note names. The dot markers at frets 3, 5, 7, 9, and 12 match the inlays on a real fretboard, which makes the chart feel physically familiar the moment you look at it.
How to use it
Print and tape it next to your practice space. Drill: pick a random note, then find every place that note appears across all six strings within the first 12 frets. Repeat daily for two weeks. By the end, you'll know the fretboard cold.
